Presque Isle High School Senior Emily Wheaton scored her 1000th career point today during the Wildcats 64-29 win at Old Town. The Wild cats improved to 7-2 and will next host unbeaten Houlton on Wednesday night.
Wheaton is the 9th player in Presque Isle girls history to achieve this milestone. Below is the list:

The Katahdin girls vs. Easton game scheduled for Jan. 4 has been PPD and moved to Tue. Jan. 16 at 6:00 PM.
Presque Isle boys’ basketball games at Orono have been postponed and moved to Monday, Jan. 8th.
The Houlton @ Presque Isle girls game, has been PPD and will be made up tomorrow, Friday, January 5, at 7:00 PM in PI. There will be a JV girls game at 5:30 PM.
PRESQUE ISLE, ME – Deandre Duncombe has been named the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week by the Amereican Colleagiate Athletic Association for the week ending on December 31, 2017.
Duncombe (FR, Port St. Lucie, FL) helped the Owls split a pair of games over the week. On Friday the Owls faced a tough Coast Guard Academy team on the road and Deandre was instrumental in a late game surge that pulled the Owls to within three late in the game. On Saturday Duncombe led all scorers with 19 points and had five rebounds and three assists, as the Owls took down the Conncticut College Camels by a score of 74-60.

High School basketball is back Tuesday night on WHOU! If you can’t make it to the game, we’ll have you covered with a few choices.
Ken and Rob will have the radio game when the Katahdin Cougars travel to take on the Hodgdon Hawks at 7 PM The Cougars have jumped into the second spot in Class D with a 5-2 record. The Hawks will be looking to avenge an earlier loss to Katahdin. They currently sit in seventh place in Class C.
Kevin Sjoberg and Bill Guerrette will be at the Panther Palace as Central Aroostook hosts Easton in a doubleheader. The girls games starts at 5:30 with the boys to follow at 7 PM

WHOU is pleased to announce the expansion of its video production for the upcoming High School basketball season. WHOU will now offer a third stream in the Greater Bangor area
They will offer between 35-40 games focusing primarily on the Big East Schools. Games will originate from Hermon, John Bapst, Old Town and Orono, as well as a few from, MDI and Ellsworth
Ryan Lincoln and Brian McDormand will be the primary announcers for the new stream.
WHOU has offered a second video stream in the Central Aroostook area for the past four seasons which has been very popular. They cover Presque Isle, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Easton, Washburn, Ashland and Central Aroostook High Schools. The North Stream offers 45 regular season games plus the playoff games.
Steve Carmichael and Bobby Russell, along with Kevin Sjoberg and Bill Guerrette do the announcing.
WHOU 100.1 FM has broadcast games on the radio for over 70 years, starting in the 1950s with Maine Hall of Fame Broadcaster Dewey DeWitt. WHOU added video stream to their schedule six years ago
Ken Holck is about to embark on his twentieth season of calling play by play. He’ll be joined once again by Rob Moran, Tim Tweedie and Joe Cyr.
WHOU 100.1 FM broadcasts 45 regular season games, with video; plus playoff games. They also broadcast all Tournament Games that include Aroostook County Teams
Station Owner Fred Grant stated, “We are pleased to be able to offer our fans three quality broadcast each day. High School basketball is extremely popular in Northern Maine and we are doing our best to promote the schools and players in our area.”
